About the crew
Peter (37, from Nurnberg, Germany) lives on Bonaire since 2014 and has been working as a dive instructor, facility manager, working on the front office of a dive resort and now is fixing problems of other people, electrician work and installing battery-solar-off-grid-systems. He is the brains behind this project. For building an off-the-grid hybrid sailing boat, he brings in the knowledge and practical experience for the technical part. He loves fishing, sailing (best combined), BBQ, swimming and unicorns.
Sanne (36, from Tilburg the Netherlands) lives on Bonaire since 2020 an started as a pharmacist in the local hospital. Since December 2022 she has dedicated her time to LIV and in the summer of 2023 she became a yoga teacher. Next to sailing, she loves painting, yoga, snorkeling and reading. She is the work and planning force in the project, learning every step more about working with steel, wood and the interior of a sailboat. And that making a planning with working on a boat is not really possible, but she tries it anyway.
LIV is the name of our boat! And we are currently giving it a complete renovation. She was created in Germany in 1968, in the second-largest German city on the Baltic coast, Lübeck. The reason I call her ‘she’ is because the creators called this limited edition boat ‘Natasha 40’. A very beautiful 40 feet (12.2 meter) steel boat, with one mast.
